Top American Imports N1 2000-2001

1) George Phillips
  • Phillips led St. Etienne as vice champions to the top of N1 classment up to Pro B. Very good rebounder with good size, hands, defense, and strength limited to the Power Forward position. St Etienne had a total team with very good coaching to allow Phillips potential to show and maximize his ability along with french players Roman Tillon, Pascal Perrier David, and Patey; Will be a good player on the Pro B level. one of  top five players in league in total rebounds, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, and evaluation.

2) Godfrey Thompson

  • Thompson led St. Quentin as the champions of N1 up to Pro B. High flying player with very big jump to block shots and rebound over opponents; take many chances to intercept the ball on defense. Very well coached at St Quentin with good french players Martin, Thierry Pons, and Forest McKenzie led team to very successful season. Thompson lacks perimeter shooting, dribbling, and passing to be impact in Pro B but very good PF in N1.
3) Keith Bridges
  • One of the premier american players in N1 for team EF Feur. Top five leaders of N1 league in points, total rebounds, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, three point percentage, block shots, and evaluation...in more leader categories than any other american player or french player; Has very big jump and parking lot shooting range; Smart athletic player that does many things on the court on defense and offense. Feur was not well coached with only french talent Xavier Delarue to help Bridges carry load of season. Knowledge and athleticism allows Bridges to be able to play Power Forward postion, but in Pro B he would be a very very solid small forward with his clutch shoots and being able to make post players and other teammates play beyond their abilities giving them confidense as a leader does.
4) Lawrence Williams
  • Top rebounder in N1; Leader at Power forward position for Rodez ranked in top five in points, rebounds offensive/defensive, and evaluation. Strong post player that uses strength to over power opponents. Rodez french players Cedric Bertorelle, and Didier Przgoda understood it was imperative to have the ball in Williams hands when he gets positon in the post; Demanding attitude was not good for team togetherness. Williams would have difficulties in Pro B due to lack of shooting distance past free throw and mental attitude towards game and teammates.

5) Eric Joldersma
  • Backbone player of Orleans 45. Ranked in top five leaders in points, interceptions, and evaluation; Good versatile player that managed to allow french teammates to get invloved in team success; Drives hard to the basket, good range on shot along with good defense and rebounding skills. Maybe not as athlectic and versatile as other top imports but Joldersma is a very smart player. Would be a very very solid addition to a Pro B team if given the chance.

Richard Hollis
  • Experienced import of Prisse; Ranked among top leaders in points, three point percentage, and evaluation; Highly offensive minded player that can do more than just score. Has good knowledge of basketball due to maturity over career. Hollis was the savior of Prisse which had troubles early in the season; Versatile player with consistant potential. Would likely be suited for Pro B on the right team where he and the players will be comfortable together.

Charles Poe
  • Import player for Autun; One of if not the best scorer in N1 ranked top two players in scoring and also was top five leaders in evaluation. Very good at penetration to the basket and getting to free throw but not good free throw shooter. Imperative that he has ball in hands on offense because all he knows is try to score, try score, try score; not team player. Perhaps to selfish for Pro B, but exciting player to watch different ways to try to score on opponents.
