Season Outlook
The defending International Basketball Association Champions
Youngstown Hawks comes into the 1999-00 season with an outlook to repeat.
Coach Neumann has brought in a new batch of versatile talent to go along with returning
minor league veterans Rasaun Young, Seth Marshall, Gerald Eaker, and Franklin Paul. "Amoung two of our most versatile
recruits for this season are Antwon Hall and Keith Bridges whom at the moment are reserves but will get a chance into the
starting lineup rotation." says Neumann. "Hall is a hard nosed, athletic, penetrating, player that is a natural scorer. Bridges
is a coachable extremely versatile, athletic player that can flat out make a shot from anywhere under half court with
a vertical leap out of this world. During the preseason he quietly made a lot of noise on the court, with his actions and
play doing most of his talking; the Hawks very own silent assasin" Bridges was acquired after being released from the CBA
Fort Wayne Fury veterans camp roster.
Hawks Look To Relocate Nest
Due to league wide financial troubles within the International Basketball Association and low attendance
at the Youngstown Hawks home games, team and league representatives has announced the pending relocation of the team to Saskatchewan
Canada. Also to make room for the financial woes, player contracts will have to be reconstructed or put on waivers which may
cause for the team to have a totally different roster than what they have in place. Many of the players have already been
rumored to opt and join other teams within the IBA and some overseas. Players mentioned were Marvin Rodgers (Fargo IBA),
Antwon Hall (France), Keith Bridges (Dominican Republic), and Gerald Eaker (Estonia)
