Owner Tim Browne of the Ballina Longnecks in the Irish Superleague welcomes temporary signee Keith Bridges to the team. Bridges has signed only for the Irish Cup competition matches which teams are allowed to add an additional import for the nation wide cup competition. "Keith has great world wide experience with excellent references and a reputation as an athletic, versatile, and big time clutch player. We were extremly lucky in getting a signing of Bridges caliber in Ireland." The Longnecks will be a force with the addiction of Bridges to play beside Liam McHale and Diora Marsh whom are no strangers to winning cup competitions with several titles between them.

After a successful run through the pre matches leading up to the Irish cup and the cup competition games, the Ballina Longnecks fall to the Frosties Tigers of Tralee in one of the most dramatic games in Irish cup history. The game needed a prolongated session to determine the victor of these two determined teams.  The mayhem started when there was a little more than two minutes left on the clock in the last period and the Longnecks were down by eleven and the game looked hopeless for them. A glance at Ballina's cup signee american import Keith Bridges coming out of a time out, revealed him stating to the players taking to the court "Lets step up the intensity on defense. Give me the ball on offense and I will take care of things.  This game is not over!". After those comments the Longnecks took to the floor, stepped up the intensity on defense, and Bridges put on a three point shooting spree (four threes in last two minutes) making shots over Tralee defenders eight meters away from the goal, including the three point shot that sent the game into overtime. In overtime the Frosties would not give Bridges the chance to display such shooting by sending two, sometimes three defenders at him.
